How to Sett Up Your Site for Google Domination

Before we begin this next section, I just want to clarify what stage you should be at by now.

You should have:

<li>Bought a domain </li>
<li>Uploaded the plugins and themes </li>
<li>Decided on your angle of attack and how you're going to presell your visitors</li>

<div style="text-align: center;">
 </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
 </div>

Sounds simple when I put it like that right? Because it is. Even though we've covered a lot, you'll find that after your first few sites this will all become second nature. And that the process from starting your keyword research to actually writing your first blog post usually takes less than 90 minutes.

Anyway, in this section we're going to talk about optimizing your website for Google and the overall structure of it.
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
Overall Website structure</h3>
This sub section serves as a guide to exactly what your website should look like, what pages it should have and what content should be on them.

This is important because Google likes to see certain things on websites (privacy policy, contact, about me) and having them, as well as a properly optimized main page, will greatly improve your SEO rankings.

On the next page is a diagram of what is the setup of the majority of my websites, although admittedly some are larger (maybe 5-6 posts instead of 3) and some are smaller (like 2 posts and no `useful article' page). However, after much testing this is the basic structure that has produced the best SEO results.

You can decide what works best for you, but this is the structure that I recommend you start off with. It represents a good balance between providing enough good content for visitors, enough content for Google and time (with practice, it will only take 1-2 hours to create the entire site).

There's the basic structure. You website will have 5 pages, 2 of which will take less than a minute to create (Contact and privacy policy). Don't worry about LSI keywords for the moment, we will talk about them in a minute.

Some key things to point out about each page:
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQK3LzH7n8GVJE1-lWAdlCUN1-5jJOGuOUF3jIc9hebTsuWbNP09rbKmNrN_jwTaI2tv6RsC82cuP71vnl2tJmP1crmF9H0gKEazQkDV_ZqOmkidP9Xg_L4JhDBO2KC-61CQbF8cV8nF8L/s1600/structure.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="271" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQK3LzH7n8GVJE1-lWAdlCUN1-5jJOGuOUF3jIc9hebTsuWbNP09rbKmNrN_jwTaI2tv6RsC82cuP71vnl2tJmP1crmF9H0gKEazQkDV_ZqOmkidP9Xg_L4JhDBO2KC-61CQbF8cV8nF8L/s400/structure.png" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
 </div>
Home page: This is the meat of your site, the other pages just serve to support the content you have here. Notice that the first post you make (this post will rarely get read so don't put too much effort in) is at the bottom. I've done this to represent how as you make posts to a wordpress blog, the older ones get pushed down. So, don't write your main post (story or review) straight away. Only write it when you're sure that it will be the final post, since it's what you want your visitors to see first.

About me: This page will just have a picture of you along with your story and make sure to include why you created the website. Curious visitors will want to know what your motivation behind it is.

Helpful article: Later on we're going to be talking about creating youtube videos and how effective it can be both to bring traffic AND getting your site indexed faster. By the way, indexed means that Google has discovered your site and has added it to their database basically.

So, on this page you can write a couple of hundred words talking about something related to the niche and then a link to your youtube video. If you decide not to create a youtube video, then you can still link to a related one. Why? Because it gives you something to base your article on, and Google does like to see some external links of some kind. And I suspect they even give sites linking to their own website (youtube) a better SEO score.

Contact Us: Just a very quick page saying contact me here and provide an email address.

Privacy policy: Half the time my policy's don't even make sense. Really just scrape anything together, it doesn't have to be over 100 words.

So, that's what your site's overall structure will look like when it's completed (first diagram), as well the actual layout of your home page when a visitor lands on your site. (The picture above)
But... Before we actually create the site and start writing posts, there are still a couple more things we need to do and also some more theory to be aware of.
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
Humans vs. the  search  engines: Striking a balance</h3>
Now, there are two goals for our website. The first is to write quality content for human visitors, to get them to read our stuff and ultimately buy whatever we're promoting. The second is to optimize for search engines, since without them we won't get any human visitors in the first place.

What do I mean by optimizing for search engines? Making sure our pages are jam packed with our main keyword and related keywords (LSI keywords). While you don't want to spam the keyword, we do want it to represent a good chunk of our website, so that there can be no mistake when Google decides what our website is about.

In fact, we want to make it seem as though our site is almost exclusively about that one keyword Which it is. Now, the balancing act comes in when you realise that you have to factor in readability for humans and cramming in a good amount of key phrases at the same time.

One or two of our three main posts will need to have the keyword as the first part of their title. This can be tricky to implement if you're targeting a long tail keyword, since if it's long then it doesn't leave much room for anything else to entice the visitor with. Here's an example. Let's say your keyword is "best way to make money quickly".

Now, it's hard to pair that up with another phrase that serves to entice the visitor to read the post. You couldn't have "my best way to make money quickly story" for example, since it just doesn't make sense.

But if you forgot about the search engines for a minute (and therefore forgot about including the full keyword), you could have "How I made $10,000 quickly & how you can too". The human visitor would interpret that as what they were looking for and it would trigger their interest at the same time.

But the search engines aren't THAT smart unfortunately, so we must include the full keyword. Not just part of it either, honestly, it needs to be the FULL keyword. So, here's what I do. If it's a story site you're building, I simply add How I did it to the end of the keyword or My story.

"Best way to make money quickly" could become... "The best way to make money quickly How I did it", or

"What's the best way to make money quickly - My story". Notice that they appeal to the search engines AND entice visitors at the same time.
Post titles aren't the only place where this balance will have to be stricken either, you'll need to do it throughout your site.

For a review site for example, in places where it would just be easier to say `the system' or `the product' you could slip in the product name, if it was your keyword. Sure, it's unnecessary a lot of the time but you need to please Google as well as your visitors. It's all about getting your keyword count up.

But don't spam it, don't say it too often more on this in a minute. Basically, what I've been getting at in this section is this: You need to make your content read as well as it possible can to humans, but at the same time get your keywords (main keyword and LSI keywords) in there for the search engines. Just remember that when you're writing your posts and you'll be fine.
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
Keyword Variances and LSI</h3>
Waaay back when internet marketing was in its infancy (a LONG before I was a marketer), I'm told that ranking on search engines was as easy as spamming a single keyword throughout your site.

Whatever your thoughts are on that (surely it wasn't really that easy was it?), one thing's for sure: it's certainly a not viable strategy today. Spamming (or strategically placing) a single keyword throughout your site will NOT get you a good position of Google. Because Google changed the way it ranked pages.

My guess as to why they did it is that it was too easy to rank just stuffing the same keyword And therefore that the `user experience' of the searcher was suffering as a result, from crappy, unhelpful affiliate websites dominating the rankings. In today's ultra competitive SEO climate, Google also places a massive emphasis on synonyms (keywords that Google thinks are related to the keyword in question).

Essentially, Google looks at all of the keywords on your site, pairs each keyword up with similar keywords to develop well, we'll call them `clusters of keywords'. Then uses the biggest cluster of keywords to help determine the topic or `main keyword' of your site. E.g. If you're site was about `get a six pack fast' you would want a lot of keywords that relate to getting a six pack fast.

Obviously, these clusters aren't the ONLY factor in determining your sites topic, but getting this part right plays a big role in the overall effectiveness of your on page optimization.

Now, that's probably the most unscientific explanation of what's really going on I've ever written (or seen for that matter), but essentially, it IS what happens. And more importantly, we don't need to understand the maths behind it, we don't need to know HOW Google does it, because at the end of the day, it won't make us any more money.

Which never forget, is what internet marketing is all about: Making money. All we need to know is how we can use these keywords to our benefit.
By exploiting their importance. These related or synonym keywords have a name by the way... named after the mathematic formula from which they stem from, they are known as Latent Semantic Indexing keywords.

LSI keywords and how to use them to your benefit If you thought the smartest way to force Google to give you a high ranking was by stuffing the main keyword, you'd be wrong. The smartest (and most effective way) is by stuffing the LSI keywords! I use the term stuffing loosely by the way, this isn't black hat SEO (true spamming).

But, what I mean is that the more LSI keywords you have `backing up' your main keyword, the more important and relevant your main keyword will appear to the search engines.

Basically, if we use the unscientific principle mentioned earlier, you want loads of LSI keywords to create the biggest cluster, and you want the main keyword at its centre.

How do we do that?
Well, first of all we've got to find out what the LSI keywords are. Obviously, you can take a pretty good guess at what the LSI keywords are going to be (stuff related to your topic) and in all likelihood you'll probably include some LSI keywords in your content without even knowing it.

So why then do so many SEO marketers go to all the trouble of looking for the most `highly weighted' LSI keywords? Because they want to find the MOST related keywords, the ones which will link closest to their main keyword and therefore give them the biggest ranking boost.

In fact, If you do a search on yeah, you guessed it: Google (does your whole life ever seem to revolve around that site?) you'll find hundreds of crazy and inventive methods that SEO marketers have created to find them.

And I've no idea why, because it couldn't be simpler to find what the most important LSI keywords are, all you have to do is go to the very company you're trying to impress and see what they think they are... And Google is more than happy to tell us, in order of importance, exactly what the LSI keywords are for ANY given root keyword.

So, here's step by step how to find your key LSI keywords straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak...
Step 1: Go to the Google keyword tool and type in your main keyword.
Step 2: In the results you'll see your keyword plus a whole bunch of other related keywords.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiU80d2QWmj-Kama9H022C8Sn9O7CkmYi67YHKbCqE_MFw0L5ag8Xhkuls1Otmoh9AiSfVbgaV33m38FdrcSKtPEavi-j_JKpz4nAXyXZAUNB1u82esmTz3EGM_kywZJW7N4i93iiX4FTY6/s1600/Keyword.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiU80d2QWmj-Kama9H022C8Sn9O7CkmYi67YHKbCqE_MFw0L5ag8Xhkuls1Otmoh9AiSfVbgaV33m38FdrcSKtPEavi-j_JKpz4nAXyXZAUNB1u82esmTz3EGM_kywZJW7N4i93iiX4FTY6/s1600/Keyword.png" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
 </div>

These are your LSI keywords. These are the keywords that Google expects to find on a high quality site about dog training.

(Please, don't be intimidated by the quality of my graphic design skills by the way...)

So with the root or main keyword for our site as `dog training' you can see that they are some of the LSI keywords. However, I also recommend that you scroll down and use some from the `additional keywords to consider section':
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJXIjLgptm5vTLhj2B7k9a6e7cFeyONiEd_QU_xLbIJAN2NctvzIxuN6HIfalYmyBvlwYmAK14XM_bAfvnIuYA9jM7XWZE22yb0tOal59rbWHl5mRNR-OFIVdYR8JbLXBsHj1oSe8mG8aQ/s1600/keyword2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJXIjLgptm5vTLhj2B7k9a6e7cFeyONiEd_QU_xLbIJAN2NctvzIxuN6HIfalYmyBvlwYmAK14XM_bAfvnIuYA9jM7XWZE22yb0tOal59rbWHl5mRNR-OFIVdYR8JbLXBsHj1oSe8mG8aQ/s1600/keyword2.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
 </div>
As these are ones that Google would expect to find on a site related to dog training, without actually having the term `dog training' in them, so it doesn't look like you're spamming `dog training'.

How many LSI keywords should I use?
I tend to use quite a few because while Google will punish you for stuffing (spamming) a single keyword, they reward you for smart stuffing, as I like to call it (stuffing a variety LSI keywords). I recommend that you try to incorporate at least 10 of the LSI keywords into your main blog page and sprinkle them throughout the rest of your website as well.

Keyword Variances Before we move on, I think that it's important to understand that every search conducted on Google is typed in by a unique person. And often, they will type in completely unique query's (they'll type something in that no one has searched for before and that no one will search for again probably).

These obscure keywords are usually longer versions of a more popular keyword (your sites main keyword for example). And it's important that I explain just how important they will be to your site.
Because while we are `sniping' a single keyword, anywhere from 30% all the way up to 90% of your traffic will come from these obscure keywords. Keywords that you never even optimized for in the first place.

Now, this might be a little tricky to get your head around, but in my experience this has proved to be true. I think what explains it best is if I give you a real life example of one of my sites so you can see how many visitors the main keyword brought in and how many visitors the unique variations did.

Note: By the way, I am showing you one of the real keywords I built a site around. So please, don't come in and steal my niche. I've got enough competition as it is!
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgO47akkx0BXA2pyzeLlV7_WwA8Mz_29GJej46A35lCpgntV6ggy5HBNIT9YCEsgkx1XOnS13gCf1_znkMYvcHE5bXIlnaSOtW9NhQeyPzNyz94_toNzVvwop7Czrf2L48auwskINfj8BkF/s1600/keyword3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgO47akkx0BXA2pyzeLlV7_WwA8Mz_29GJej46A35lCpgntV6ggy5HBNIT9YCEsgkx1XOnS13gCf1_znkMYvcHE5bXIlnaSOtW9NhQeyPzNyz94_toNzVvwop7Czrf2L48auwskINfj8BkF/s1600/keyword3.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
 </div>
As you can see, the keyword I targeted and built my whole site around ONLY brought me 17% of my visitors. In fact, there were 1,306 different phrases in February alone that led visitors to my website. And what's really shocking is that I'm not even number one for the main keyword.

Why am I telling you all this?
Firstly, because I think it's important to understand where your traffic will be coming from. And secondly, to give you a real example of just how important LSI keywords are to the success of your website.

You see, it is the LSI keywords that are responsible for a lot of that `unplanned' traffic... You may have noticed that the search phrases other than my main keyword look a lot like LSI keywords. And a lot of them are - by incorporating more LSI keywords onto your website you're increasing the number of search phrases that your website will rank for.

Basically, you may or may not rank for the LSI keyword itself, but you will rank for some weird variation of it. So, LSI keywords don't just serve to increase your rankings for your main keyword, they also increase the chances that you'll rank for these `unique' search terms (which will bring you a hell of a lot of visitors!).

How to install Your Wordpress Plugins & Themes

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
<div style="text-align: center;">
What is Wordpress Plugins?</div>

In order to log into your wordpress blog go to: www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin/ and you'll be prompted to enter the username and password you chose. It's all very user friendly and relatively self explanatory.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgkPiOiO1t1CukSFvkXUtFhwyq34Bol6HKwKdwpKNc2ExOPVc76jo9sJgx9t2S8o3H7i6pC7rgwKK6EvqeOSGBuN4Z-RwVeQUCLEE5zBwGQAEVr6yfzTxQoBqpfJ-ML_9k0cU-bDQT6BPd/s1600/wordpress.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="118" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgkPiOiO1t1CukSFvkXUtFhwyq34Bol6HKwKdwpKNc2ExOPVc76jo9sJgx9t2S8o3H7i6pC7rgwKK6EvqeOSGBuN4Z-RwVeQUCLEE5zBwGQAEVr6yfzTxQoBqpfJ-ML_9k0cU-bDQT6BPd/s320/wordpress.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
 </div>

If you want to learn the basics before we move on then I recommend you look it up on Google. There's plenty of useful free information out there. And I'm not going to waste peoples time by going into the basics of wordpress here. Instead, I'll show you everything you need to know as we go along.

Now, there are two things you need to do to your website before we even start to write anything and they are: Download and configure the 2 essential plugins, and choose a `theme' for your site.

We won't go into the latter here, because it fits in much better in the next chapter: Creating your killer presell story and writing the content.

So, let's focus on the plugins for now. There are HUNDREDS of free plugins available to enhance your wordpress site but I never really use any but these two.

Feel free to browse the selection available at your leisure, but personally, I can never be bothered.

The 2 plugins you NEED are: All in one SEO pack Helps to optimize your blog for search engines Google XML Sitemaps Creates a sitemap for Google which helps SEO once again.

Don't worry about what each of them do or how to configure them at this point of in time because we'll get onto that later. For now you just need to install them on your blog. And what follows is a step by step guide on how to do it.

<div style="text-align: center;">
How to install your  wordpress plugins & themes</div>

I say themes as well because it follows the same process. You won't have a theme yet but just come back and view this section when you want to install one.

Step 1:

Click the `Add New' option under the Plugins section.

Step 2:

Type in the 2 main plugins you require. First let's search for the All in One Seo Pack, once typed in hit the Search plugin button.

Step 3:

Locate the correct plugin, in this case we select the All in One SEO pack and hit the install Now link as show above.

Step 4:

Wordpress will then ask you if you are sure you want to install this plugin, hit the ok or yes button.

Step 5:

You simply hit the activate plugin link to finish off installing and activating your plugin. Now repeat the steps for the `Google XML Sitemaps' plugin.

Alternatively you can also install your plugins via FTP. Step #1:

Download the plugins from the site and unzip them. All in one SEO pack Helps to optimize your blog for search engines .

Download it here: <a href="http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/all-in-one-seo-pack/" rel="nofollow">http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/all-in-one-seo-pack/</a>
Google XML Sitemaps Creates a sitemap for Google which helps SEO once again. Download it here: <a href="http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/google-sitemap-generator/" rel="nofollow">http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/google-sitemap-generator/</a>

Step #2: Go to your CPanel account and select unlimited FTP. Or use whatever FTP program you use normally.

Step 3: This step is for guys who haven't used FTP before.

Unlimited FTP is a File Transfer Protocol program (don't worry about the jargon) that basically allows you to upload and download files from your computer to your web server and thus, your website. What you'll see when you open unlimited FTP is a screen similar to this:

On the left you've got your computer and you can browse through all of your files and the on the right you've got your web server. You don't need to worry about any files except public_html. So click that as shown in the diagram

Step #4: If this is your first and only website on the hosting account what you'll see now will look something like this:

Click on wp-content.

Step #5: You will now see this on your screen.

Notice how on the left hand side I've browsed to where I unzipped the plugin/theme. And on the right we will now select plugins, but if you wanted to install a theme (which we will do later) you'd need to click on the themes folder to install inside.

Step #6: Once inside the plugins folder you should see this:

Now all you need to do is click upload and voila: The plugin will be uploaded to your wordpress blog. Now that you've done it for the all in one SEO pack, browse to where you unzipped the sitemap plugin on the left hand side and click upload again. When we install a theme you will do exactly the same process but in the themes folder.

This is all a lot easier to understand in video format, so...

And Watch me Create a Wordpress Blog From Scratch and Install a Theme and Both Plugins.

Okay then. You should now have your blog installed. In the next chapter we're going to talk about how to presell your visitors to maximise your profits.</div>

How to Install Wordpress in Your Site

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
<div style="text-align: center;">
Wordpress, a gift from the  God's? </div>

To build our website we will be using a free tool called wordpress. I don't know why, but search engines LOVE Wordpress, especially Google.

The difference between a traditionally built website (one built with Xsite pro, Dreamweaver etc, maybe even notepad if you're old fashioned!) and wordpress is absolutely phenomenal.

Seriously, the first time a friend of mine convinced me to use Wordpress I was gobsmacked. I mean, my sniping was already pretty effective... but with Wordpress it became like taking candy for a baby... a big 500 pound baby called Google.

So, why will we be using Wordpress to build our websites?
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>It ranks a lot better in the search engines than if you use any other website creation tool. </li>
<li>It's free. Yep. Completely free, which saves you several hundred bucks right off the bat. </li>
<li>Anyone can use it; you don't need to know much about coding (I still can't, to this day, design even a simple website using code alone) </li>
<li>It's so much quicker to build a good looking professional site. Oh sure, for pure speed nothing beats Xsite pro for quick site. But if you want to make it visually appealing (important) then you'd need to design headers in Photoshop etc. Whereas with Wordpress, all you need do is upload a new `Theme' Of which there are THOUSANDS available to suit all types of site.</li>
</ul>

A note to the more experienced guys who are set in their ways: Look, I swore by own site creation tools too (Xsite pro for me) but just like I did, you're going to have to wake up and smell the bacon!

Wordpress is the future. Sure, the first few weeks were a pain and it hasn't quite got as many options as the traditional creation suites. But, the search engines love it and the fact is that if you're NOT using wordpress then you're at a serious disadvantage.

Anyway, we've established what platform our websites will be built with. What next?
<div style="text-align: center;">
 </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Installing Wordpress</div>

Note: Read through this chapter first. Then watch video four to see exactly how to do install a wordpress blog and themes/plugins...

Wordpress works a little differently to most website creation tools. Rather than install a program on your pc, you install it on your web server and to access it you have to enter a username and password.

This is actually one of my gripes with wordpress, because it means you can't edit your site unless you're connected to the internet. The plus side is, of course, that you can access and edit your sites from any computer in the world.

The reason wordpress works this way is because it's actually a blogging platform. Even though most people use it to create normal websites, it was originally created for blogging.

So, here's how to install it. Note that I'm going to presume that you're hosting has CPanel because most hosts do nowadays. But if it doesn't for some reason then you can follow the setup instructions on the wordpress website here.

Step #1 Log into your hosting account and on the main CPanel window scroll down to the software/services section and click on Wordpress icon.

<div style="text-align: center;">
 </div>
Step #2 Then click on Install on the right hand side and you'll be presented with this screen

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Step #3 You'll then be presented with this screen: Select Your Domain for your website and click "Check Domain".

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Step #4 You will then be presented with this screen:

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
Where would you like Wordpress installed: </div>
There will be a drop down list of your domain names, select the one you want. For this example, my domain would be <a href="http://gotrustreview.com/">gotrustreview.com</a>.
<div style="text-align: center;">
Install in directory: </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Leave it blank to install it on your home page. If you put in blog, you would only see your site if you typed in domain.com/blog </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Choose an admin name and password (can be whatever you want) </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Site name: </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Here is where you'll put your keyword, possibly followed by `review' if you're creating the entire site about one product. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Description: </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Write a brief description of the site. Include the main keyword. So if the keyword was `how to get a six pack fast' this might be my description: How to get a six pack fast How I did it. If the theme of my site was my story of how I got a six pack.</div>

Now, that description will be displayed at the top of the blog and is not the description that will come up on search engines. For our individual post descriptions (the one that Google users WILL see) we might instead have something like:

"Discover how to get a six pack fast Includes the story of how one skinny weakling got ripped abs in just four weeks plus tips on how you can get a 6 pack fast too."

Notice I'm selling the visitor on the website while optimizing it at the same time with related keywords like `ripped abs' (called LSI keywords). But more on this later.</div>

Great Domain Name Secrets

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
<div style="text-align: center;">
The first step to building a website is of course to register a domain name. So, that's what we're going to cover here.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgavx2aPgbrtfoJEVC5GNFntuxRn-jrgyrL8TqhK7L4nnbrScDUnTHHp6CmKZAVha2TT2ykuM4Vva4BkZFmRnuhqBcct5qrZJfmLlpD9s1g98unwlv-6KoAfojRgH02LrqxHjv4Ex_cpU0v/s1600/domainname.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="321" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgavx2aPgbrtfoJEVC5GNFntuxRn-jrgyrL8TqhK7L4nnbrScDUnTHHp6CmKZAVha2TT2ykuM4Vva4BkZFmRnuhqBcct5qrZJfmLlpD9s1g98unwlv-6KoAfojRgH02LrqxHjv4Ex_cpU0v/s400/domainname.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
 </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The purpose of your domain name</div>

For this system the purpose of your domain name is basically to help your search engine rankings. If on the other hand you were creating an authority or E-commerce site you might choose something memorable, even catchy. Partly because you'd want to target tens, maybe hundreds of keywords and so a general domain name would be better. And partly because it would be more important for visitors to remember it.

This isn't so with sniping. While we will try to keep in mind human visitors, they are definitely NOT the priority. The priority is pleasing the search engines and having a keyword rich domain name will help your rankings greatly.

Some search engine optimization experts believe that the domain name has very little impact. But I couldn't disagree more, having an optimized domain name is damn near ESSENTIAL if you want to rank for competitive terms without building backlinks.

<div style="text-align: center;">
How to structure your domain name </div>

So we've established that having an optimized domain name is very important to the overall website. So, how should I structure it? Well, it's very simple. Just have the keyword as the domain name, with nothing else. If you can get .com then obviously get that, if not get .net or .org.

A note on .org or .net: I've had great experience with .org domain names on Google but bear in the mind that Yahoo doesn't like them. But who uses Yahoo anyway? I don't buy that famous statistic that only 60% of searches are conducted through Google. I suspect it's closer to 90%... But anyway... I tend to go for .org over .net because it just sounds better. .org's are after all meant for non profit, pure helpful information websites. Stay away from any other extensions such as .info (which is often associated with hackers and spyware).

What if you can't get `just the keyword'?

What I usually do is add either review or info to the end of the domain name. Review will sometimes be taken but it's rare that info isn't available. These are just two but there are literally hundreds of words you could add to the end or beginning depending on your niche and your `presell story' - more on that later!

Personally, I don't like hyphens, supposedly hyphenated domains work well because the search engines treat each word as a separate one but I've never had any luck. And when was the last time you saw a hyphenated domain in the organic results?

Ok, so now you've got a domain name all we need to do is create the website.

Note: I'm presuming you have a hosting account already, but if you don't then may I recommend you check out Bluehost it's the company I use, I think it's like 7 bucks a month and you can host an unlimited number of websites on that same account. I've had a few issues with regards to installing some programs but overall they've been a fantastic company to work with.</div>

How To Get Free Basic Healthcare and Make Money

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
<div style="text-align: center;">
Get Free Basic Healthcare</div>

Student health center offer a variety of basic healthcare services for free ('free' here meaning that these fees are included in tuition). The typical freebies that can be had include condoms, band aids, common immunizations, and over the counter meds like Tylenol. More complicated care involving, say, x-rays or splints will require payment. Chances are, you won't even be asked to show any student ID, though if you are just start complaining about it being in your dorm that's, like, really, far away...

<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://howtomakemoneywe.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Free Money</a> and Healthcare </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
 </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHXi-uVqRxLWDRgMSEC0JnxVPDbyrJG9xIBmDpWketz52x_08Syx7xkqNRwfcx1fLKzahx2csrpB0xUJhVIopJjshf3MkhiqRjkkM4vHXJFqJW5NCk9rEHMDpc3SXWFz-UCFYCJo5VuBpZ/s1600/health.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHXi-uVqRxLWDRgMSEC0JnxVPDbyrJG9xIBmDpWketz52x_08Syx7xkqNRwfcx1fLKzahx2csrpB0xUJhVIopJjshf3MkhiqRjkkM4vHXJFqJW5NCk9rEHMDpc3SXWFz-UCFYCJo5VuBpZ/s320/health.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
 </div>
Um...wtf?
An absurdly easy way to make some cash or score some free healthcare is to whore yourself out as a volunteer for various research studies. The studies are typically conducted by academic institutions, private corporations (usually pharmaceuticals), as well as various other think-tank organizations.

The researchers will typically be testing something, such as a new drug, the effects of heavy metal on brainwaves, group interaction under duress, and so forth, and will need research participants (human guinea pigs) to test their theories/products on. In order to lure in test subjects you'll be offered a reward (also known as a dangling carrot) consisting of either free medical treatment (if you're doing a clinical study) or/and monetary compensation.

This brief section, written in FAQ form, will answer some general questions about where to find studies, how much you can expect to get paid, and other jazz. (And yes, since corporate and educational interests are so interrelated in this day and age (along with their mutually vested political interests as well), I feel that it's therefore within the proper bounds of a guide about scamming universities to mention corporate sources for research studies;)).

<div style="text-align: center;">
What kinds of studies are there?</div>

All kinds! A f**king rainbow of opportunity abounds. The studies range from the mundane drug tests and advertisement efficacy testing to the more fun studies like the effects of psychotropic substances and memory games, to the outright bizarre ones along the lines of going on a broccoli sprout diet or watching nature shows while hooked up to an EEG.

A common misconception that may all too often arise from reading existing human guinea pig guides (like Jim Hogshire's horribly incomplete Sell Yourself to Science) is that the only studies that are out there are drug or other medical studies. There are, however, plenty of non-intrusive social science studies run by psychologists or business research firms which typically pay less than the medical studies, but don't involve any uncomfortable physical examinations.

<div style="text-align: center;">
How much do I get paid for this shit?</div>

Compensation varies from study to study. <a href="http://howtomakemoneywe.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Some don't pay any money</a>, but instead offer the 'benefit' of complementary medical treatment. For instance, if you go into a migraine study you may be given a free month's supply of new experimental migraine medication, but no money. Other studies may pay anything from $5-$50 an hour for a few hours, or you may get around $2000 for a month-long live-in study. Once you find a study, if the compensation isn't immediately listed, contact the study coordinator and ask what the compensation will be.

Typically, the longer and more intrusive the study is, the more you'll get paid. That is to say, an hour long advertising study that requires you to rate your mood after looking at some ads may only give you $10, while a five hour study that involves an attachment of something like a catheter (<a href="http://www.malecare.org/" rel="nofollow">http://www.malecare.org</a>) may offer you compensation that's more along the lines of $200. If you're uncomfortable with needles, probes, blood samples, and other general aspects of medical examination, you'll probably want to stay away from all medical studies and focus on the business and psychological studies, which tend to pay less per study but are also generally more pleasant.

Remember that the cheaper studies are often easier to get into as they have less stringent requirements and an often larger desired sample size, so don't scoff at a $10 study as not being worth your time. $10 should be enough to feed you for a week or more, and the little studies tend to add up to nice sums over time.

<div style="text-align: center;">
So If I don't like needles and anal probes and all that wicked jazz, does that mean I'm stuck doing the cheapo studies?</div>

Not necessarily. However, there is the little matter of burning your bridges. For all studies you will have to sign a consent form, which informs you of the risks you'll be taking and general legal yadda yadda to cover the sponsor's ass. If you do read the fine print though, you'll find that all of these forms also say that you are under no obligation to complete the study, and will receive full (or at times partial) payment for your participation regardless of completion. This means that if, say, you've signed up for a medical study that also requires a blood test at the end, you could, in theory, participate into the study up until the blood draw and then state that you're not comfortable with going any further. You will be compensated for your time, and excused from the study, money in hand. Your partial participation, however, cannot be counted in the study itself and thus resources will have been wasted on you.

Unofficially, what this leads to is known as blacklisting or shitlisting. When participating in studies you'll often have to identify yourself by the last four digits of your social security number (which can, of course, be entirely made up), though you will most likely be remembered by your face (identification is nearly never asked for), as the same people tend to run all of the studies at a particular research center.

What this means is that, after bailing midway through an earlier study, if you show up for another one, don't be surprised if you're cordially told that "when we contacted you we didn't realize that we had already met our required quota, so we're afraid your services aren't necessary at this point in time...". In other words: you'll make <a href="http://howtomakemoneywe.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">more money</a> in the long run by sticking to studies you're comfortable with completing all the way.

<div style="text-align: center;">
Who can participate in these things?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
 </div>
All studies have their own unique requirements. Some will only accept smokers or pregnant 78 year old hermaphrodite albinos. Each study will have the participatory qualifications which you should look over. If you lie chances are that the proctors will be able to detect that something isn't quite right and will quick you out of the study with partial or no compensation, after which you'll get shitlisted and won't be invited to any more studies in that circle. If you don't get spotted and you're doing some sort of medical study you also run the risk of having the medications react with you in negative ways.

While most studies will also likely have minimum age restrictions set at about 18 or 21 years, there are some studies which focus on juveniles (with parental consent). However, no one really checks for proof of birth date, so as long as you look old enough everything should be honky dory.

<div style="text-align: center;">
OK, where do I find these studies already?</div>

As most of the studies are conducted by academics, look up the phone numbers or emails for the psychology/neurology/sociology/business/medicine departments at the local universities and call them up/email them saying that you are interested in any present or future research study volunteer opportunities. Some departments will have special mailing lists you can sign up for to receive news of any upcoming studies.

While on the subject of universities, walk around a few local campuses and look at the flyers posted around the thereabouts. Oftentimes you'll see a few 'research subjects wanted!' flyers hanging around. If you want to decrease the selection pool and therefore improve your own chances of being selected, go ahead and either tear off the flyers, or rip off most of the available phone stubs if there are any.

You should also look through the classifieds section of the local papers (including the free community papers), as there are study notifications sometimes places in the 'help wanted' sections.

The Guinea Pigs Get Paid website (which, unfortunately, only focuses on medical studies) has a comprehensive international directory of various medical trial centers: <a href="http://www.gpgp.net/directory.php" rel="nofollow">www.gpgp.net/directory.php</a>

The Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies has a list of on-going psychedelics studies: <a href="http://www.maps.org/volunteer.html" rel="nofollow">www.maps.org/volunteer.html</a> (most of which are without compensation, though some lucrative offers do pop up if you scrutinize the list with care).

Google also has a list of links to sites which pertain to various clinical trials (Google also has a listing of 'preclinical' studies, though those essentially mean animal testing, and as such are of no interest to us superior Homo sapiens)

<div style="text-align: center;">
What's the etiquette for establishing contact with the study coordinators?</div>

Essentially, there's nothing to it. Simply email or call up the particular department and state that you'd like to be added to any available lists which will keep you abreast of the latest studies that are going on.

When contacting a particular study coordinator, once again, simply express your interest in the study and request additional information. Keep in mind that spaces may be limited, so contact the coordinator right away (don't delay!).

If you're asked to fill out a pre-trial questionnaire, or asked a few questions over the phone, it's usually best to answer truthfully with regards to any medical studies (lying about things like allergies can have the obvious adverse consequences) while fibbing on all other non-clinical questions (like 'is English your first language' if the study calls for only 'native English speakers') is usually perfectly fine. If asked about background habits like drinking (and the study is on alcohol consumption), you want to make yourself sound a bit above average, but not so outlandish so as to be an outlier on their precious data graphs.

After the study is completed, feel free to send a thank you email. This will elevate you above the other masses in the subject pool and will help insure placement in future studies (yes, the studies are technically supposed to be random, but human bias, like a deadly nerve gas, always has a tendency to leak in, hopefully to your benefit).

<div style="text-align: center;">
How should I act during the study?</div>

You aren't being graded on your responses (unless this is a multiple-part study and you must qualify to proceed to the next stage), so generally you'll want to answer truthfully. That is, unless you want to have a little fun. If you want to f**k with the researcher's a bit (who are likely f**king with you, as the true intention of the study isn't often revealed until the post-study debriefing session), give insane answers to any of the free response questions. For instance, if you're looking at a series of pictures for various products and are asked to write down your mood, write down 'happy' for all of the products, except, say, when you get to a tube of toothpaste write down 'very angry'. If doing some sort of medical study, break down into tears and laughter sporadically, and so on... Though keep in mind that you don't want to overact so much as to be shitlisted, so restrict your monkey wrenching to a subtle level.

If you're filling out bullshit survey answers, keep in mind that there may be one or more control questions to which certain answers would be impossible (such as questions asking if you've ever done a nonexistent drug), which are designed to weed out your malarkey.

<div style="text-align: center;">
What about selling blood, sperm, plasma etc...?</div>

The number of hoops you usually have to jump through to qualify for blood and sperm donation, coupled with the low payments and time restrictions (e.g., can only donate three times a month, etc), make most of these bodily fluid ventures highly unprofitable when compared to all of the aforementioned research study opportunities. Nonetheless, if you are interested in this sort of thing, check out Jim Hogshire's Sell Yourself to Science.

Also, if you have the magical power to ovulate, and don't mind a bit of surgery, you can fetch around a couple thousand dollars per egg. There is a whole so-called subgenre devoted to egg donation, though as this is outside the scope of research studies, you're on your own to research the matter as you please... <a href="http://howtomakemoneywe.blogspot.com/">howtomakemoneywe.blogspot.com</a></div>

How to make Money Reselling Rare Books

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
Yet another way to score some mullah is to take advantage of extensive university library networks to resell copies of otherwise rare books. Do some research on out of print and rare book resellers such as <a href="http://www.alibris.com/" rel="nofollow">www.alibris.com</a> to find out which books are the hardest to get and also the most expensive. Then hop on over to your local university's library site and see if they happen to have a copy. If they don't, don't despair quite yet.

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
 </div>

University libraries typically provide an interlibrary loan service (ILL) (free to students and faculty, a small fee for everyone else) that lets you request any titles not in the college's own library that they will then try to get from somewhere else.

If the book is at your local library, merely procure it without checking it out (see the free library books section above), remove any identifiable markings, and put the book up on a rare/used book reseller site at a price that's somewhat lower than the cheapest version already available.

If you can only procure the book through the interlibrary loan, proceed to make photocopies of the book (see the free photocopies section above), and then just put those up for sale. Don't worry, this is not an uncommon practice for particularly rare books, just don't forget to mention that these are indeed "high quality" photocopies of the actual tome in your product description. Freebies:</div>

Review Copies. Publishers regularly send out gratis review or 'press' copies of books to various periodicals so as to garner some (hopefully positive) publicity for the tome in question. After procuring a list of required textbooks, you can then note their publishers and proceed to find out the mailing addresses and/or fax numbers for their publicity departments (browse their websites or call/email and ask them). For instance, Harvard University Press' site states "if you would like to request a review copy of one our books, please: Fax your request on your publication's letterhead to..." (<a href="http://hup.harvard.edu/journalists/review_copies.html" rel="nofollow">hup.harvard.edu/journalists/review_copies.html</a>).

Next, design a little logo for your periodical, and write a full (<a href="http://jobsearchtech.about.com/od/letters/l/bl_block_p.htm" rel="nofollow">http://jobsearchtech.about.com/od/letters/l/bl_block_p.htm</a>) or modified (<a href="http://jobsearchtech.about.com/od/letters/l/bl_mblock_p.htm" rel="nofollow">http://jobsearchtech.about.com/od/letters/l/bl_mblock_p.htm</a>) block letter, providing a brief explanation of your periodical (target audience, numbers of subscribers, etc), as well as the request for the book(s) which are to be reviewed in an upcoming issue (don't forget to include the ISBN in your request). Keep the letter pithy and short; it shouldn't exceed one page.

You can then proceed to either snail-mail or fax your request to the publisher. Unless you go the full nine yards and register a domain name that matches the name of your periodical, I wouldn't recommend emailing the publisher, as a request for a professional book coming from a yahoo account may raise a few eyebrows.

After receiving your book, if you want to remain on good terms with the publisher so as to be able to request more textbooks in the future, go ahead and write a small review of the book and send it back to the publisher, complete with a little personal note attached saying something along the lines of 'here's an advance copy of the review, it'll appear in next quarter's issue!' Publishers want copies of reviews (particularly those of the positive, but not fawning, variety) to use excerpts from them in their own publicity stunts, as well as in those 'Praise For...' pages oft seen in books.

[A small aside: your review copy will come with a nifty 'promo sheet' providing bullet-style points of the main features of the book. These things are literally designed for reviewers who don't get around to reading the full book anyway, so feel free to use these points in your own review. In fact, if you do a search for all reviews of a particular book, you may start noticing that many of them actually say the exact same shit verbatim...now you know why ;)].

Nota Bene: Press review copies are not the same thing as professor/instructor review copies. Many textbook publishers also offer review copies of books to instructors who are considering using the books for their courses (thereby, at least in theory, guaranteeing the publisher fuckloads of that sexy green). The catch, however, is that these review copies are often time-based trials, meaning you may have to send the book back after 60 days or so, and require you to provide all sorts of fun info like your department/university, phone number, etc. Though if you're interested in testing the waters in this area, go right ahead :) (for an example of instructor review copy offers, as opposed to the aforementioned press review copies, see <a href="http://www.sagepub.com/reviewCopy.nav" rel="nofollow">www.sagepub.com/reviewCopy.nav</a>).

Shoplifted Copies. Stealing (err...liberating excess surplus or reasserting use value rights of reclaimed brainwork commodities) books is easy as shit. Beginning and aspiring shoplifters would do well to start out jacking treeware to get their game down and their confidence up.

Most books do not come with any sort of electronic article surveillance (EAS) anti-theft measures. For the most part, they do not have tags both on the inside/outside like CDs or DVDs. There is, however, a relatively new craze fueled by all this recent RFID noise called source-tagging. A very small percentage of books in the market today thus potentially have a small RFID chip imbedded in their spine. This is not the same thing as the blatantly obvious magnetic strip found in library book spines (and discussed in the previous section). Chances are you will not be able to determine if the book has this spine source-tagging.

The good news, though, is twofold. First of all, I have never seen or heard of a source-tagged book being out in the wild, that is to say outside of being talked about in trade publications, these contraptions are apparently not actually being used in books as of yet (note that I say in books, they are certainly already being used in DVDs, CDs, and so on), but as the technology itself exists, and is clearly being marketed for the purpose of inventory/loss prevention, this may all change very soon. This then brings us to the second piece of good news: as these source-tags are based on radio-frequencies, all one has to do to defeat them is wrap the book completely in a few layers of tin foil, or place it in a bag/backpack that is also completely lined with impermeable foil. Shoplifters call this a magic bag, physicists prefer to call it a Faraday cage. Look it up in a physics textbook you just procured :-P. Alternatively, you can just run a knife through the tag to break the circuit and render the tag impotent.

Aside from the 90% of books with no protection, and the 1% (I'm pulling numbers out of a hat...which is to say my ass) of potentially source-tagged books, a small percentage of books have a primitive stick-on RF barcode sticker. These puppies typically look like so:

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhX_oqe43u3ApDOcyuV1x64MEm0hligRk7CDVmYQZTjP1xawfdVGZDOszFLW7O36ovcByEepSQrdX8OHMYz3D46doDloe0WnThnp68D7cugErN8_CH_qPa0m8M9fCW8vi7hS1lmJIB8uVDZ/s1600/rfbarcodetag.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhX_oqe43u3ApDOcyuV1x64MEm0hligRk7CDVmYQZTjP1xawfdVGZDOszFLW7O36ovcByEepSQrdX8OHMYz3D46doDloe0WnThnp68D7cugErN8_CH_qPa0m8M9fCW8vi7hS1lmJIB8uVDZ/s1600/rfbarcodetag.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
 </div>

Figure 4. A RF barcode sticker that functions as a security device, complete with a tank circuit on its back. The tag can be made useless by breaking the circuit, for instance by slicing through the sticker with a razorblade or Xacto knife.

The shiny circuit side is usually adhesive and is either stuck unto the inside/outside covers of the book, or simply tossed betwixt the pages, without the paper from the sticky side even being removed. In case of the former, one can easily either peel the tag off or use the aforementioned magic bag technique.

In case of the latter, simply flip through the book and toss out the tags (keep in mind that there may be more than one in the same book), or—better yet—stick the tags on unsuspecting consumers to help create confusion in the store as the EAS towers start beeping each time every other shopper walks out ;).

Remove the tag (if any) or foil-wrap the tome you desire, and then simply walk out holding the book by your side. One may wish to use a random receipt (that nonetheless obviously resembles those given out from the store, i.e. go fish one out of the trash outside) as a credibility prop, and either have the receipt prominently sticking out of the books, or (even better) pretend to be carefully looking over the receipt—to make sure you didn't get scammed by the store, of course!—as you walk out.

Nota Bene: The advantage of lifting books from a college bookstore around the start of the semester is that the places will be crowded as all hell. The disadvantage is that this may also be the time the college wastes more of your tuition on hiring special loss prevention officers (typically uniformed so as to serve as grisly, intimidating deterrents) to watch over the college bookstore.

If you're therefore feeling particularly nervous, fuck the high-stress college scene altogether and go over to your favourite retail chain with minimal-to-the-point-of-being-virtually-nonexistent security (Barnes & Noble comes to mind in the US). If the retail chain store doesn't have the particular textbooks that you need (they probably wont), you'll want to be sure to go there a few weeks before you'll actually need the books for classes or whatnot, and have them place an order for you at the store. They'll ask for a name/address/phone, all of which aren't verified, so no worries there.

'Found' Copies. Walk around campus. Look around cafeteria tables, libraries, student halls/commons rooms, study kiosks, and so on. Chances are you'll find a bunch of textbooks that have been forgotten.

Hell, why not have a try at the lost and found as well. Books from courses you're not taking can still be appropriated and then exchanged for cash at college book buyback events at the ends of semesters, or sold online. Want a copy of the teacher's version of the book? Stop by zir office when ze's (gotta love these 'gender-neutralizing' pronouns ;)) not around and help yourself.

And yes, this involves stealing shit from your "fellow students" (all of whom are marvelous, virtuous people, may we all be so blessed as to be given the opportunity to shower in their shit...that surely goes without saying), so if you've got any moral hang-ups about this particular technique, there's plenty of others offered in this text. Simply gloss over this one and spend the time fuming about it masturbating to your Mother Teresa pics instead.

Other Digital Copies. Aside from scanned books, you can also check out projects like Wikimedia's Free Textbook Project (now called Wikibooks), at <a href="http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Main_Page" rel="nofollow">http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Main_Page</a>. Most "classics" used in classes that are out of copyright are also legally available from Project Gutenberg (www.gutenberg.org), which currently has 20,000+ ebooks online. You can also take a quick look through the online databases that your school may have access to (see the free ebooks and journals section above), on the off chance that a book used in the course comes to mind. The NetLibrary database may be particularly handy if your college has a subscription to it.

<div style="text-align: center;">
 </div>
Now that I've covered a few simple methods for procuring free textbooks, there are also a couple common sense things you can do to chop a few bucks off the cover price:

'Missing' Copies. After placing a bulk order from your online vendor of choice, wait a couple days after you receive all of the package(s) for your order, and then call up customer service and start complaining. "What kinda game are you sneaky motherfuckers trying to play here? Only 11 out of my 15 books showed up, planning on sending the others any time soon?" Obviously you don't want to be quite that rude, but you do want to come off as being rightly pissed off at the merchant for fucking up your order.

Adding in something along the lines of "my classes start in two days!" will also net you free overnight shipping for the 'missing' copies. It should be equally obvious that you'll only be able to pull this con once from the same company, and that it is most effective on bulk orders, where a certain percentage of bungling is only to be expected. You can then return the duplicate to a bookstore for store credit, or hawk them online or to "fellow students" (there's that term again...) for a cheaper price in exchange for some good ol' cashito.

Used Copies. The used textbooks at the local college bookstore are going to be overpriced as shit, no doubt there. Visit a local used bookstore outside of the college, and you're bound to find some cheaper buys.

The standard big wheelers like Amazon and B&N also offer used books, as do auction sites and sites devoted to selling used books like <a href="http://www.campusbooks.com/" rel="nofollow">www.campusbooks.com</a> or <a href="http://www.urshelf.com/" rel="nofollow">www.urshelf.com</a>. But now we're drifting off into the world of the dreadfully mundane, so time to bring this section to a close :).</div>

How to Find Free Books from the Library BlackHat Tricks

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
Library books are often tagged with a thin metallic strip, typically found either betwixt the book's original spine and library's cover (see the accompanying images), or glued alongside the pages on the inside of the book, in the margins. In case of the former, jam a pen or a small Xacto knife into the gap between the covers, and pry the strip loose.

It'll take you a couple minutes to get the strip out of there—a set of pliers or, better yet, tweezers will also be of great help to you in this endeavor. If, however, the strip is inside the book between the pages, chances are you'll have to cut out the page that the strip is attached to at the spine, and then after cutting out the strip from the page, tape the page back in.

Here's some eye candy outlining the aforementioned defanging process of removing the security strip from library books:

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwNRzPPWCtZLQ2oWJ092JFqkVyIteehtfbPo6mRN0M_Zbm95olcVlYTLzql9YxgbthA8vynVSxQJwzR-ke-cySoAQy51kSzR8VpQU5EvA3-OqYjNfGDrTodsTGsISp-31D5Fa48YUGTtjA/s1600/b1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwNRzPPWCtZLQ2oWJ092JFqkVyIteehtfbPo6mRN0M_Zbm95olcVlYTLzql9YxgbthA8vynVSxQJwzR-ke-cySoAQy51kSzR8VpQU5EvA3-OqYjNfGDrTodsTGsISp-31D5Fa48YUGTtjA/s320/b1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
 </div>
Figure 2. Here you can see the metallic EAS (Electronic Article Surveillance) strip between the covers. As described above, use a pen, Xacto knife blade, pliers, or tweezers to detach it.

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIPoPnEpd_O7NrFuRH00uEx4hX5G-1RE2j7JBggLKNI8xpcPZXLfEF9aU8Se3RwAG4acjqGtm32oKft-5PKxyG-pBw7GqjicCiHPT2Wbm9I0kX8pv_gEyXCXfQJDi_zF-RCGWcOpyiQ51p/s1600/b3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIPoPnEpd_O7NrFuRH00uEx4hX5G-1RE2j7JBggLKNI8xpcPZXLfEF9aU8Se3RwAG4acjqGtm32oKft-5PKxyG-pBw7GqjicCiHPT2Wbm9I0kX8pv_gEyXCXfQJDi_zF-RCGWcOpyiQ51p/s320/b3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

Figure 3. And here is the security strip, post processing. It lies naked, defeated. The book is now free.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
 </div>

To locate the strip, hold a book up to the light and pear into the gap between the cover, you should see a small, slightly reflective strip. Alternatively, if the strip is between the pages on the inside, look at the edge of the book and you should see that one page seems to stick out slightly. That or simply flip through the book and look for the strip. If you feel that you've thoroughly glanced over the book and still can't find the strip, guess what, the book just might not be tagged. Not all library books are, just like neither are all of the products in stores.

If you don't feel like putzing around with all of this defanging business, consider simply tossing the desired book out of the library window and then retrieving it outside. If the book is particularly fragile, wrap it in bubble wrap and/or a towel, and use some tape to seal the deal.

Oh, and the library book may also have a barcode sticker on it for cataloguing purposes. The barcode/sticker won't set off the alarm by itself (that is, unless it's got an RF tag on its back, see Figure 4 in the following section, though that's uncommon for library books), but you should peel that shit off nonetheless. Fuck barcodes.</div>
